About Mandy

Mandy Taylor is a Clinical Psychologist with experience in public mental health, primary care and tertiary education. She enjoys working collaboratively with people of all ages, backgrounds, and orientation. Her therapeutic style includes cognitive behavioural strategies, solution-focused therapy, and resilience and acceptance approaches.

Background and Experience

Mandy joined Cairnmillar Institute in 2017, and has enjoyed various roles including supervision, training and client care. Mandy completed her Masters of Clinical Psychology in Hobart and over the course of 20 years has worked in public mental health in Tasmania, Western Australia and Victoria. Mandy’s work in public services has included CAMHS/CYMHS roles supporting children, young people and families, and also working with Adults presenting with complex mental illness.

In education roles, she has enjoyed training and supporting early career colleagues including psychiatry registrars, General Practitioners and multidisciplinary colleagues. Mandy is a registered psychology supervisor and has delivered industry training across the education and health sectors, and at a postgraduate tertiary level in the areas of eating disorders, CBT, working with children and their families, psychopathology and evidence-informed psychological interventions. More recently Mandy has enjoyed roles with a Primary Health Network supporting system reform change and advocating for community care needs in the primary care sector.

Mandy has held executive roles, provided industry supervision for executive and management staff, and enjoys the versatility of these discussions interspersed with working with young people and their families.
