Background and experience:

Kat completed her Masters of Clinical Psychology in Melbourne and has been working in the wellbeing and mental health field since 2014. She spent 5 years working in a residential youth mental health setting where she supported young people experiencing a wide range of difficulties relating to relationships, mood and trauma based struggles. Throughout her studies she also spent time practicing as a psychologist in community mental health clinics where she saw people experiencing mood disorders, difficulties at work, unhealthy substance use, grief and loss, as well as young people and their families living with eating disorders in inpatient and outpatient settings. She also has experience in and a passion for working with people who are expecting a child or who have infants as they work through their transition to parenthood and the challenges that arise along the way.

Kat is client centred and adapts her treatment to the client presentation. She makes use of the following theoretical modalities.

Kat is able to accept referrals to work with adults, young people, and families regarding:

  • Life transitions and adjustment difficulties
  • Wellbeing and Resilience
  • Grief.

About Kat:

Kat is a psychologist and clinical psychology registrar, and her background involves working collaboratively with people of all ages, backgrounds, and orientations in a range of community, residential mental health, and hospital settings. She strives to create a therapeutic environment where people feel heard and understood, and where they feel safe enough to talk about a range of issues that may be present in their past and current life. She thinks it is important to work collaboratively and from a person-centred approach to help people achieve their goals. Kat is an LGBTIQ+ ally and uses she/her pronouns to describe herself.
