Who We Are Our Staff Dr Cat Connaughton Senior Lecturer DPsychHealth GDipPsych GDipAdolHlthWelf GDipChildAdlCoun BAppSci MAPS FCHP Cat is a registered Health Psychologist who has balanced clinical practice and research roles since obtaining her Doctorate from Deakin University. She has worked in community settings as a psychologist for the Child and Youth Mental Health Service, as well as in schools providing assessments and therapeutic intervention to children and young people. Cat has also worked for 10+ years as a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, Australian Catholic University, and Deakin University, where she has designed, implemented and evaluated several health intervention programs, facilitated seminars, and obtained funding. Cat has supervised the research of several Honours and PhD students. Expertise Children’s health and wellbeing; parenting; men’s health and wellbeing; sexual dysfunction. Research Interests Children’s health including body image, transitions, and emotional wellbeing; carer burden of children with food allergy and chronic conditions; men’s health and wellbeing; sexual dysfunction in men, osteoporosis in older adults. Due to research roles, she has also recently become interested in perinatal health.
