About Aaron:

Aaron brings to the clinic a wealth of experience working with adults with varying presentations as well as providing supervision and group supervision. He has a strong interest in short term psychodynamic approaches, treatment resistance and transference.

Areas of work:

• Individual therapy with adults 20+.
• Facilitating group supervision with an emphasis on building reflective practice.
• Providing individual clinical supervision for early career therapists and Psychologists, Registrars and experienced clinicians.

Background and experience:

Prior to his current role as Student PlacementLiaison Lead at the Cairnmillar Institute, Aaron worked for 13 years at The Victoria Clinic in Prahran - a private, sub-acute mental health facility. Aaron worked on the inpatient unit, delivering individual and group therapy and psycho-education sessions for clients during their admission. As such, he has a fair amount of experience in working with individuals presenting with complex and chronic emotional, relational and psychological difficulties. 

Treatment Approaches:

Aaron’s therapy style draws upon short term psychodynamic and somatic psychotherapy paradigms. He works in a non-diagnostic, person-centred manner. Where appropriate, therapy is affect-driven, relational and insight-oriented.
