Developmental Psychopathology Across the Lifespan (HON407)

This unit will focus on important frameworks (e.g., the biopsychosocial model), theories (e.g., psychodynamic and behavioural), concepts (e.g., risk and protective factors), and processes (e.g., diagnoses and classification) central to the study of developmental psychopathology. Within the broad context of a lifespan perspective covering normative development from ‘the cradle to the grave’, particular emphasis will be given to the importance of the interplay between biological, psychological, and social/cultural factors for understanding how psychopathologies may (i) manifest and (ii) be treated.
