Child and Family Therapy (CAP509)

The aim of this subject is to advance the student’s knowledge and skills in clinical work with children and families. This unit will develop the student’s knowledge and skills for working with children, adolescents and families from the humanistic psychotherapies’ perspective, including Child-Centred Play Therapy and Expressive Therapy activities. The unit focuses on understanding Attachment Theory and Emotion Focused model as they apply to working with families. The theories covered will be applied to case conceptualisation and treatment planning for common presenting issues in clinical practice with families and children.
