This unit introduces students to the three waves of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, with a particular focus on the mindfulness-informed Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is a widely practiced form of psychotherapy. It is based on the notion that problems are related to thoughts, feelings and actions learnt over the course of a person’s development. In this practical unit, students will gain experience in applying and evaluating their skills across the six core processes of ACT.
