This unit focuses on counselling assessment and brief interventions, including suicide risk and family violence risk assessments and interventions. The unit draws on the recovery-oriented and trauma-informed principles of practice. It builds on an understanding of the main mental health disorders covered in PCN201. The unit will explore the five P-factors case analysis across biopsychosocial and spiritual aspects of life, developing an appropriate focus for therapeutic process, and short-term management interventions.
